#MonogramMonday

Rather than being all

via

about it being Monday, cloudy and freezing, I've decided to take a page out of my Brenna's book and celebrate monograms! If I woke up every day to accessorize with monograms and could just stare at cute puppies until about 10:00 am I am pretty sure I would be a happy camper.

In honor of the Olympics (Go #Merica! USA! USA! USA!), I decided today's #MonogramMonday will feature red, white & blue monograms, obviously appropriate to wear while cheering on our fellow Americans during the Winter Games!

Since everything is better with a bow, why not wear a cute blue & white star bow with a red monogram?

Even though here in Oklahoma it's a little gross cloudy, I see sun on the 7-day. I have some star-shaped sunnies, courtesy of Michaels during 4th of July, that might have to make an appearance. But these monogrammed ones? 10x cooler.

Yet another Marley Lilly find, these monogrammed 'Merican Made Spirit Jerseys are perfect. As in, must-have perfect.

If the temperatures actually get as warm as they're supposed to this weekend (because 50 is totally a heatwave, ya'll), some outside time will be necessary. Since it's only appropriate to have a game to play while watching the Winter Games, how perfect is this?! Tailgate for #Merica!

I promise this isn't a Marley Lilly sponsored post, they just have all the best #USA products! I think this cup would be perfect to keep my sweet tea cold.

My iPhone and iPad both got an update - if you'd like #MericaForTheGold iPhone & iPad backgrounds with your monogram, email me at shaeken@oketatealumni.org. I'm back on the ball, ya'll, so other custom requests are welcome, too - I'd love to create something perfect just for you :)

Be sure to stop by Brenna's to check out her #MonogramMonday post - she actually MADE everything in her post, and my talented friend is setting up an Etsy shop! That ring dish she posted is calling my name.

PS - Amber's only favorite restaurant, Ken's Steaks & Ribs, is up for Best BBQ Joint in the Best of Chickasaw Country!!!! Help them win by voting every day!

Midweek Favorites

I feel like bloggers sure do love a lot of stuff. I mean, what I'm loving Wednesday, with a new set of loves every week? Okay, really, I fall into that category too thanks to Pinterest so who am I to judge. Moving on.

I love all things about this: mason jar, pink, glitter. I'm thinking I need to make one of these for my makeup brushes and do the same for the ones currently holding my nail polishes (minus the pink, because who wants to cover up their pretty polishes?!). I did this with a plastic wine glass to make a Snap Cup (a la Elle Woods) for my office, which now houses my sharpies rather than any warm fuzzies (I faced the same challenges Elle did - #LackOfParticipation).
here.

Do you see that? No, not the bow key chain (although, totes presh - also needs to happen) - I'm taking about those monogrammed car mats. What? Yes, please.
here.

Clearly I love 4th of July (I mean what other holiday is full of sky glitter?). I've already got my outfit planned for the day, and the one thing missing was a bow. As of last night, that's fixed. Marley Lilly has this FANTASTIC patriotic bow that will complete my outfit perfectly and it will be on it's way to my mailbox soon! Hooray! #Merica
here.

Last, has everyone hopped on the Vine train yet? I did - a long time ago - then no one else did, so I stopped because what's the point of vining if no one is going to watch? Well, everyone seems to he hopping on, so be sure to follow @shaeken. We're taking Thabo to the dog park tonight so maybe an adventure will be posted! :) Also be sure to share your Vine name so I can follow back!

Also, 80 days until football season!!! My vacation time has been approved for August 30th and I'm ready to head to Houston to watch some Cowboy football!! #GoPokes #BeACowboy

Friday Favorites

1. New U Nutrition {Herbalife}
I stopped by Monday at lunch for a shake & tea, and my comment on Facebook was "hello delicious." Seriously - I had a Reese's Cheesecake shake & a Raspberry Lemonade tea, and it was amazing. I will definitely be going back soon I've gone back every day this week. That good. Find a place that makes Herbalife shakes in your area and try one (this is east of Mustang across from Aaron's on the north side of highway 152, for my local friends). I've tried making the shakes myself and failed miserably, it just didn't taste the same...but their Cinnamon Toast Crunch tastes just like the cereal. I'm more than willing to spend $6 to get to drink a delicious, healthy shake every day.

2. My Birchbox eyeliner
I already talked about this one this week, but I've worn it every day and I appreciate it more each time I see that it's stayed put. That's all.

3. Girls Night
Aka tonight. Caylee is in town and we are staying at Meg's and having a blast. In fact, I wrote this yesterday because she's here right now and if I had to guess what we'll be doing today, it'll probably involve laughing at each other's hilarious stories and shopping for the Pinterest-y sort of night ahead. There's just something about having best friend time that makes my heart really, really happy.

I ordered one of their Long Sleeved Monogrammed T-Shirts on Thursday and I already am planning when and where to wear it. My go-to outfit lately has been a long sleeve shirt, a long cami, skinny pants/leggings and Uggs. Within like 10 minutes of ordering, my shirt had started being processed. They're SO fast on creating and delivering things, so I'm quite certain I'll have it next week...meaning I'll be wearing it soon. #CantWait

5. Liquid Mucinex
I was definitely feeling a little sickly-ish earlier this week. I took off from work a little early and went to the doctor. While I won't get into the hot mess that was the doctor's visit, I will say the advice to get liquid Mucinex was probably the best thing to come out of it. Within two doses I started feeling better. You'd think my sinuses would eventually realize I live in Oklahoma and the weather will always be crazy, and they'd behave. #DreamOn

PS - have you entered Cassie's book giveaway yet?
