How Pinteresting
I have a pinboard where I post sayings and other wordy things I like. I decided it was time to share with you. :)
My mom likely feels like everything I say should be preceded by this:
Lainey tweeted me this a while ago and it stuck with me:
This reminds me of my dear Lori Jo:
I'm a kind of a not morning person. I like this:
Always, always pray
If you ask my friends... They would probably say to add Twitter too:
This is me:
And these just made me laugh:
Sorry if the formatting is funky. I just got a new phone and this is my first post from it! The pictures are a headache so clearly I have done learning to do.
Goodnight :)

Dear Googler,
One of you came here looking for OKC Thunder Tom's yesterday. I'm not sure how that search term brought up my bloggie in the results, but it did. I apologize for any confusion, and would like to point you in this direction. However, if you find any OKC Thunder Tom's, or if you're the super creative type and can make me some, let me know. I'd be happy to wear them and Thunder Up!
hearts.

drive friendly, the TEXAS way!
That sign is, without a doubt, my favorite thing* about crossing into Texas.
This weekend I jetted (ok, drove) off to Decatur for the first time in several months for a weekend of fun and laughter with two of my favorite people and one of my favorite animals.
When Caylee moved to Decatur a little over a year ago, I flooded her Facebook timeline with random facts about Decatur and attempted to teach her how to be a little country. Apparently there are famous cowboys from Decatur, though I've never seen them, so I told her to wear cowboy boots and wave at everyone. Ha. I've still never seen her in cowboy boots, though I'm sure she has some by now. If not it's permissible because she's my little city friend transplanted to country-ish life.
Anyway, back to Decatur. They have the cutest little town square within walking distance of Caylee's, and on this square is a delish local steak place, Sweetie Pie's Ribeyes. If you are ever in the Decatur-ish area, TRY IT. That good. Drive for a bit if you have to.
Like I said, I spent the weekend with two of my favorite people, Caylee and Stephanie. The animal mentioned is Oakley, Caylee's yorkie poo, who was fortunate (?) enough to get a little hair trim from me... I failed miserably at taking pictures, so I Facebook creeped to find a few of us. I found exactly two pictures of the three of us, taken in 2009ish. Let's fix that next time.
This is the most recent picture I found of me and Caylee...we've changed a bit!
And I found a couple of picture of me and Stephanie, but none bring back the memories of this one... haha :)
On Saturday, Caylee and I went to Grapevine to the mall. I FINALLY picked up some new tennis shoes at the Nike store - SCORE! Ready to run now! They're white and pink, and perfectly lightweight and supportive. I also picked up a new AmPo green v-neck t-shirt from Old Navy so I can cheer on my favorite Panther baseball player (Kale Joe) this spring in style! Old Navy also had some super cute infinity scarves that I fell in love with.
While at the mall, we stopped in f21. Holy moley, I forgot how much I HATE the organization, or lack thereof, in that place. No wonder I only stop in when necessary. But, I did find a cute outfit, and now I just need to find some tickets for an upcoming game so Lori and I can Thunder Up looking cute!
I also bought these shoes a few weeks ago at Metro Shoe Warehouse, and will be wearing them with the outfit. Probably with a cardigan, because we all know how cold I get :) I can't wait!
My favorite part of coming back to Oklahoma is crossing the Texas-Oklahoma border (again with the border, sorry). You're greeted by a billboard featuring Governor Anoatubby, welcoming you to the Chickasaw Nation. I'm so proud to say Chikashsha Saya! (I am Chickasaw!)
Anyway, Thunder vs. Heat is tonight in OKC... I'm going to be
PS - Can anyone name the movie this quote comes from? "Follow me, or perish, sweater monkeys."
IMDBing it is cheating, btw...

Bracketology
I just filled out my NCAA bracket.
No, I'm not sharing it...I'm not that confident. Not a sports blogger, remember? Just a deeply devoted fan, who loves the game and is saddened by a losing season that we're no longer talking about on this blog. Looking forward! Anyway, if you want to see my bracket, share yours. I just thought I'd shed a little light on how I recommend you fill out your bracket this year.
Bracketology with shaeken
1. Pick teams you like/want to win and those that definitely should win
2. Pick teams from good vacation states or states you like
3. Pick teams with the better color combo
4. Pick teams with cuter players
So scientific, right?
If I happen to come out with a halfway decent bracket, I'll let you know. I haven't yet patented my bracketology, so feel free to use it when you fill out your bracket.

#SickGirlProbs
By Saturday night I was a sickling. I was achy and congested and quite certain I felt a sinus infection coming on. I was miserable on the couch while everyone was having a joyful time playing Harry Potter Clue. Seriously sad I missed out. Sunday, same story. I made myself put on jeans and a nice shirt to have lunch with Kevin (my smart friend - he's in vet school, yo), then I drove home and immediately put on the most comfortable things I could find before going to my grandparents house to see my big family. I slept until everyone got there, and felt normal-ish but still sinus-y. Went to work Monday, still feeling bad, but convinced I just had a sinus infection and would be fine. Finally around 4 I was convinced I needed to go to the doctor - at the very least, to get a shot so I could feel better for my all day meeting Tuesday. Miss Doctor laughed at me when I told her I was 99% sure I had a sinus infection and proceeded to shove a flu test up my nose (okay, not as harsh as I made it sound, but still). Minutes later, she told me I had the flu. I've never had the flu, so I wasn't exactly sure what that meant... I asked her if I could have a shot so I could go to work the next day. She laughed. Come on! By the time I went to Walgreens, got my medicine, drove home and climbed in bed, I was feeling really, really sick. Good thing Miss Doctor told me I needed to stay home, because I didn't want to leave my bed.
And so it began. People, the flu is miserable. I'm sure most of you know this, but in case you don't, take it from me. Don't get it!
Some #SickGirlProbs I incurred this week
1. I couldn't find my Minnie Mouse cup (the "princess cup" according to Daddy)
2. When I run fever, I randomly start crying. About everything. Fever makes me cry. My poor mom put up with a lot of crying.
3. Crying made my congestion worse. This worked out sooooo well, clearly. #sarcasm
I have always sworn by Vicks Vapor Rub - however, it has a tendency to break me out. Ick. Plus, it's slimy, which is gross. Thanks to a coworker, I discovered Puffs Plus with Vicks. If you're sick with congestion, get them! They're super strong smelling though.
Daddy bought me flowers to brighten my day. They are on my bedside table and still looking awesome! This just goes to prove he isn't cold and heartless
The plus side of being sick - I got to sleep a lot and I got tons of Molly snuggles :) I'm pretty sure she knew I was sick, because she kept close to me and was super cuddly. I just love that little pug.
I'm fiiiiiinally starting to feel normal... YAY! Now off to Lysol everything I've touched and hope Momma isn't coming down with it too! She patiently took care of my every need and put up with my whiney little self!
*I got this picture by Facebook creeping Morgan. That's how sick I was: No pictures! Whaaaaa??

Ain't nothing like a livestock show!
As I mentioned, last week was the Grady County Jr. Livestock Show & Sale. The Terry Kennedy family (mine, fyi) has made the switch in the last year from the sheep barn to the steer barn. I would post a picture from the sheep showing days, but the only one I can find a) isn't from county, b) is on Lori's Facebook and c) is my backside. #awkward
Anyway, helping my brothers/family with this adventure is the one and only Charles Willis. Mr. Willis was my mom's ag teacher, and he is the dad of one of my sweetest friends ever, Ashley. Kaden and Kale's ag teacher is Mr. Scott, who was also my dad's ag teacher when he was in school! Needless to say, I feel like the Kennedy boys have some pretty wise helpers on their side.

Kaden practicing before he goes in the ring to show
Kaden had Champion Angus! He was also selected 3rd best steer overall for the bonus auction. Kaden also was the Reserve Champion showman and will be one of two 13-15 year old exhibitors representing Grady County at OYE!
Kale and his steer, Skillet. He was Reserve Champion Hereford and the 8th steer in the bonus auction.
We've always had amazing support from family in everything we've chosen to do. These ladies are my Grandma Vickie and Grandma Nett.
Bonus auction time!
Also, I'd like to give a HUGE THANKS to the Chickasaw Nation for their sponsorship of Grady County's Chickasaw exhibitors!! Side note: speaking of Chickasaw things, Chickasaw Country launched today!
Something I've learned about showing cattle is we obsess more over their hair than I do over my own. It needs to grow, so they need to be kept cold, and it has to go in the perfect direction, so it must be washed and blow dried daily, and it needs to be cut perfectly, etc. So much hair! Kaden even scolded me for touching the hair wrong. I was just picking wood chips out though ;)
The best thing about cowboys, I've heard, are their great behinds.
And on that note...
Sorry if this post was a little rambly (yes I made that word up) or whatever, I have the flu. More on that later.

Shoe style.
I wasn't prepared for the sheep show Tuesday, though, and went in skinny jeans and flats.
On Wednesday, my brothers were showing their steers, and I was much more prepared. Love my boots.
Last night (Wednesday, I'm still awake so I'm counting now as Thursday) when I got home from the show, I was so ready to be comfy. So, it was a tee, leggings and Tom's for the night as I headed over to
I also bought these cuties recently-ish, after a year and a half of searching for the perfect orange shoes.
And yes I wear them in Norman!
I also finally found the perfect blazer yesterday! Now I look totes professional but not old and grumpy! Yay! I'm a big fan of it, especially since it was on super sale and works with like everything I wear to work.
I'm still searching for the perfect pair of running shoes. I am so picky. I want something light and cute and supportive. So, still taking suggestions :) I also need a great new pair of heels, but I can't decide what exactly I'm looking for just yet.
A county show post will come soon, pinky promise. My brothers rocked, though, so be prepared for awesomeness.
Totes sorry for the random picture sizes, btw. Not sure what's up with that...
