Friday Favorites

The time where I share my favorite randomness from the week.

Picking up this shirt from Miranda made me want to go for a run, immediately, and look cute doing so. In case you can't tell, that's silver-mirror text, followed by GLITTER text. It's a perfect fitting tank and I'm in love with it. They come in tanks or tees, and in a lot of colors. I just found out she is making another order, for you local girls who want them. If you're not local & want one, I can ask if she ships, and if not, I can order it and ship to you! Email me if you want one!
Bonus: it's a size smaller than what I thought I'd need. Thank you Insanity! #workit

Matt and I took Thabo to the park for the first time yesterday! He had so much fun running free (on his leash). Eventually he got a little adventurous and dipped his toes into the water, then jumped back like a princess. We might need to work on that. He enjoyed climbing up the big hill before we left then running down - not on the sidewalk, of course!

King of the park!

Yes, Amy, you are a princess.

Just watch this video, because I seriously don't have the words to explain how much I laughed.

Don't forget to #ThunderUp tomorrow!! #ShearTheBeard

T-minus 10 days until #Shaes24th

The title has nothing to do with the post, just thought everyone could use a reminder that on May 2, you need to use #Shaes24th and do amazing things...like wear glitter, tutus and tiaras, eat snow cones, hang out with fantastic people, and just having an awesome day in general. Anyway, on to the post.

Last Wednesday, I had plans to watch Duck Dynasty hang out with Matt & Thabo. However, in the springtime, Oklahoma likes to throw fits and have crazy weather, complete with tornadoes and flash flooding. So around lunchtime, we realized the bad weather would hit just after we got off work - slash neither of us needed to be on the road because clearly this girl is scared of tornadoes and didn't want anyone out in them. Instead, I went straight home after work to find my mom crawling out of the cellar. A little early, you crazy lady. Come to find out, she was {wisely} cleaning out our little hidey hole so that our family + neighbors could all ride out the storm underground.

Sidenote: mom was smart-ly wearing orange since a smart decision was made the same day by Marcus Smart, Markel Brown and LeBryan Nash that they'll all be returning for another year! Yes, we already bought tickets.
#BringBackTheRowdy
I'm not sure how many of you all are familiar with the May 3 tornado (aka the one that wiped out my house the day after my birthday), but it has our family a little leery of tornadoes. While some crazy brave Oklahomans may enjoy chasing them, we prefer to hide from them. So when the path of the storm pictured below resembled the one from May 3 a little too much for comfort, we headed underground.

Julie wasn't a fan of the cellar & decided to stay on my lap most of the evening!
About the time the hail started, some of our neighbors showed up. Just from opening the door to let them in my brother got soaked! As we sat there discussing who knows what, we realized water was leaking in a bit from the air hole in the corner. Soon, water was leaking in a lot - it was very apparent that the twirly lid had been blown off and there was nothing stopping the rain from coming in! (Sorry for those of you who aren't familiar with "the twirly lid" - I have no idea what it's called but they're on top of like every single cellar.)

My brother took a blanket we had with us and tried shoving it in the hole to stop the water, and as you'll see in the picture on the right, it didn't last! Quickly it got too heavy and fell, letting water rush in. As the corner was quickly flooding and we were imagining swimming in the cellar, dad showed up from work (thanks for missing all the excitement!) and said it was safe to come inside. Thankfully we didn't have to go back down that night!

On Thursday after work, I went over to Aunt Kandi's to help Kiera decorate her lunch pail for school - Friday was the Land Run and she couldn't have a boring, non-themed lunch pail! Since she was dressing up like a Native American, we were sure to incorporate Chickasaw colors and a Native theme to her pail.
Our finished project! She told me exactly
where to put everything and I just glued.

Friday afternoon, you couldn't tell there had been crazy #okwx (<-- follow during storms for humor), so Matt and I headed to go grown-up Easter egg hunting to the driving range. I'm not even sure when the last time was that I attempted to hit a golf ball, so I decided not to take it too hard on myself if I was terrible. Thankfully I managed to hit a few good balls, and should do much better next time :) Even if I would have done terrible, we had such a fun, relaxing time and I definitely hope we spend many more evenings this spring/summer playing!
See? Grown up Easter egg hunting!
After golfing, we were hungry! I forgot to mention that we actually picked up all the range balls we used (they didn't have any and said if we pick up whatever we wanted to hit they would let us golf for free...okay!), so we definitely needed to replenish some energy! In this post I told you about this bubble pizza stuff we made, and Matt loved it so much that he requested it again Friday night! #winning #domestic So, off to the store we went for ingredients. And, since so many people have asked for the recipe, I'll put it at the bottom of this post. :)
Bubble Pizza!
The rest of the weekend was spent laughing at Baby Tate, watching Django, celebrating my Aunt Kandi's birthday, and watching the Thunder get their first playoff W of the season! #ShearTheBeard
Baby Tate was more interested in grabbing the spoon
than eating the food Aunt Hanna tried to feed him!
Molly was so sleepy that she dozed off during the Thunder game (imagine that. #lazydog). She decided her spot was the middle of the bed last night, and I think I might have a small Molly-foot-sized bruise on my hip  from where she kicked me all night. For a small dog, she has quite a powerful kick.

Recipe for Bubble Pizza (adapted from this pin):

You'll need
a greased glass baking dish - a 9 in square would be perfect
1 can of Grand's Homestyle Butter Biscuits (these are the best, trust me - although if you don't, just use any Grand's Homestyle Biscuit...just know you'll regret not using the butter ones.)
Toppings of your choice (I used pepperoni, some full and some chopped up, but bacon or something would be good too)
1 14 oz can of pizza sauce
Shredded mozzarella cheese
Oregano (optional)

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Using a knife, cut each biscuit into fourths and put the pieces into the pan - cover the bottom, but don't try to squish it down. It'll be a little layered.
Put your toppings on top of the biscuits.
Evenly pour the sauce on top of the toppings/biscuits.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Remove from oven, quickly add cheese - as much or as little as you'd like.
Bake for another 5 minutes
Top with oregano if desired. Let sit for 5 minutes to cool, then cut into squares and serve!

#High5Friday....kind of.

I'm WAY happy it's Friday.

This week barely even deserves a high five.

It's just been a really.long.week. starting with Monday.

Anyway, 5 things real fast.

On Tuesday, Matt & I changed his oil. Read that adventure here. The good news/high five out of this? His car is still working! We didn't break it!

Oklahoma's weather has been awesome this week. Tomorrow it might be gross again, but for now, it's awesome. My coworkers & I took advantage by having a sunroof lunch!

My March BirchBox came in! It was packed fulllllll of goodies that I can't wait to try!!

The OKC Thunder volunteered at my work yesterday! Read: I was like two inches from Nick Collison. #swoon. No worries, Matt didn't get replaced :) Go watch this video for a peek at the fun. See pictures I took of the day here.
The kids loved the players!
OSU won last night in the Big 12 tourney!!! They play again tonight at 9. While I love this tournament, I'm really just ready for Sunday so I can fill out brackets already. #ILoveMarchMadness

Weekend Recap!

Good morning, bloggy friends!
Sidenote: I never used to write center aligned,
it's a recent thing, and it's staying around for a while. Maybe.
How was your weekend? Good? Sweet.
Tell me about them, like in the comments, or in your own blogs. Dealio?

My weekend? It included awesome people and lots of fun. This clearly equals an awesome weekend.
I wore neon orange heels to work on Friday just to ensure I could kick the weekend off in style.

This weekend, as so many others have as of late, started off at the AmPo gym for Panther basketball.
AmPo girls and boys both beat Minco Stinko, as I called it growing up. Since it was an AmPo/Minco game, my wonderful twin and #BabyTate were at the game (Lori, is it okay that we've officially hashtagged your kid?). Tate fell asleep on me, which of course I didn't mind. He was wearing AmPo green to support Kaden & the Panthers, even though he started the night in a Bulldog outfit.

Saturday morning started with more basketball (a weekend theme, btw), in the form of Kale's YMCA team.
After watching them kick some booty, I headed to Yukon to get my camera fixed.
Again.
I haven't expressed my annoyance here, but guys, when a camera goes out of commission two weeks before Christmas, you kind of want to cry. Then, when they keep it for almost two months to fix it and six days after you pick it up it gives you the exact same error message, you get a bit annoyed. Especially when you've been told this screen is practically the equivalent of the blue screen of death. #pcprobs. So, I took it back, and apparently although they'd replaced the motherboard, they didn't fix everything that was wrong, and there is still something wrong with the way the camera communicates with lenses regarding image stabilization. Possibly. We'll see. At least they aren't charging me this time.

Saturday afternoon, Matt and I watched basketball (I told you it was a weekend theme), and thank goodness our Cowboys got another W! T.Ford & the 'boys are onto something with this whole winning on the road idea. :)

Anyway, after an afternoon of basketball, Matt took me to Cheesecake Factory!! It was delicious. After dinner, we each picked a flavor of cheesecake, so we could try them both. We picked Hershey's and Reece's, which they accidentally swapped out for Snickers, which was delicious too, so really it didn't even matter. This cheesecake was so rich that we ended up with at least half of both pieces left over. The Snickers one is sitting in my refrigerator tempting me as I type.

^That, my friends, is a good date night. Of course, I didn't get a picture, so just pretend you haven't seen this one yet since Matt likes the Pete 'stache so much, even though it's totally being reused from this post.

Sunday after church the family headed to Grandma & Trapaw's house to celebrate the cutest little almost-five-year-old I know - Julie! Miss Sassy Pants might have found her present from me earlier in the week (clearly it was makeup, nail polish, etc...everything her daddy - my uncle - wouldn't want her to have!), but I quickly covered so she still was surprised when she opened it (I think).

Before leaving my grandparents' house, Trapaw was sure to pass out Valentines Day presents! He's never missed a chocolate box delivery :)

I ended the weekend with - what else - basketball! The Women's Basketball version of Bedlam was Sunday, so clearly I watched that and wore plenty of orange, followed by Thunder vs. Suns/the Grammy's. I think we all know what I watched more:
Oh, Nick Collison. #ThunderUp

weekend{rewind}

Happy National Championship and Countdown to the 2013 Season Day! Only 236 days until the Oklahoma State University Cowboys will take the field in Houston, TX at Reliant Stadium against the Bulldogs of Mississippi State. Not that I'm counting down and planning my outfit already or anything...

Friday after work I stopped at Ulta to pick up new mascara after thinking my eyes were going to be scratched out of my face from being so allergic to the cheap-o stuff I'd purchased a few days before.
I got the ck one mascara in black and so far it's not bothering my eyes at all or flaking off. #winning. While I was there, I picked up Baby Lips Peach Kiss because my lips have been super dry. Another winner. Try it if you haven't yet.
Momma and I met at the Pink House (aka Royal Nails, for you Tuttle-ites who Google for the phone number and can't find a listing for the Pink House anywhere...don't worry it only took me almost two years to figure this out) for pedicures. I was so excited, because I hadn't had one in forever. While the little feet water basins were filling, they asked if we wanted manicures as well. After just a bit of prodding, mom and I agreed. I've never had a gel manicure before - when I went to Le for, like, ever, I did acrylics (even when I had a full arm cast and he had to paint my "thumb" right onto the cast itself!) then I stopped going at all because no one was as awesome as Le, so I just painted my nails myself and increased my Essie collection! Anyway, mom said my aunt gets gel nails, and since we remembered hers looking great, mom and I decided to try it out.

Definitely worth it. Definitely going to be getting it again. Hopefully next time I need my nails done assuming I have time when these wear off. I told mom "I think I'll go out on a limb and not get the brightest pink they have this time." Ha. I ended up with the brightest pink they had, of course. On the gel: no dry time, no air bubbles, they haven't gotten scratchy or chippy yet (I know, it's only been a few days, but I typically have to repaint my nails every 3 days or so) and they are SO shiny!! They have matching regular paint too so my toes match, which is always a plus.
They remind me of Barbie doll color. Love!
I didn't intentionally show off my rewards cards & flash drive for this picture.
I just wanted a picture of my nails right away to see how long they stay looking perfect :)
Saturday I had to run to the Apple store to replace my cracked iPhone 5 screen. Word to the wise: make sure you buy Apple Care with your iPhone 5. They can't replace the screen in store and every non-Apple place I found on Google was at least $300. Instead, they just give you a new phone. Cool deal. For $229. Not cool deal. Thankfully the sales person was super nice and told me about Apple Care (I had no idea I needed it before), so for only $49, I'm protected for the next two years against a broken-in-any-way iPhone and can get repairs for $49 instead of $229. Knowing myself well, I decided it was a wise investment. With any luck, I won't need it.

Saturday night I was treated to a fancy pants night at the Warren Theatre. We went to see Django Unchained in the Director's Suite. Boys, take note: this is the way to take a girl to the movies if you want it to be a really awesome night! I was told to bring my ID (you have to be 21 to be in the Director's Suite) but I thought it was just a joke, so I wouldn't get ID for being a teenager (We went to Remington Park once and I forgot my ID and they didn't let us in because I didn't look 18. I was 22).

Anyway, the Director's Suite is so wonderful, with fluffy heated recliners that were so big I basically curled up into a ball for the whole movie. Oh, the movie was fabulous too. I'm not a bloody movie type of girl, and was told we were seeing either Django or the Hobbit. Simply because of my bloody movie fear (slash induced nausea at the sight) I secretly hoped it was going to be the Hobbit, but was happy to go along with whichever, since I'd heard Django was supposed to be good. It was awesome and definitely I'm glad we saw that over the Hobbit! If you are at all into good movies, go see it! In case you haven't guessed, I had an amazing time and a fantastic Saturday evening :)

Sunday was a day of relaxing, basketball and football. Thankfully the Thunder won again - I never get tired of seeing Nick Collison on TV and the post game interview featured my #CelebrityCrush.

I know, I know. Long weekend update. It was a good weekend though, and I didn't even have to mention anything about OU losing their bowl game. #oops :) Happy Monday, friends!

1.04.2013

First Friday of 2013!

High 5, Friday! 2013 is already shaping up to be a great year, and to prove this point, I'd like to share a few awesome things from the week.

1 & 2. New Year's Eve & New Year's Day
Hello great days. You, NYE2012, were not a typical Monday. You brought sleeping in, buying a memory foam mattress topper, an afternoon with my Little, an OKC Thunder game (and win!) AND walking around Bricktown! New Years Day, among other awesome things, brought the first Cowboy win of 2013. I'd say we're starting this year off right, you think? No joke, NYE and NYD (can I do that?), you two days are definite winners in my book. High. Five.

3. Sleeping
Alright, we all love sleep, I know. But like I said, I got a memory foam mattress topper on NYE, and to make it even better, I got it for cheap. Thanks to an incredible sale at Kohl's and the Kohl's Cash my mom gave me, I literally paid just over $5 for the most wonderful thing I've ever slept on. Regardless of how late I got home on NYE night, I was determined to put it on my bed. And oh my goodness I am so glad I did. I've probably thanked my mom at least eight times for giving me the Kohl's Cash to help buy the heavenly cloud-like surface I'm sleeping on, but I mean when I say it is amazing. Mom also had a new pillow that she gave to me, which is the perfect combination of fluffy and firm. I've seriously been having the best nights of sleep EVER for the last four nights. When you add on the footie pajamas I got for Christmas, sleep couldn't get much better.
Yes, that is my sideways foot that only goes to the beginning of the fox's eye.
4. The conversation I had with my Big on Thursday.
It went from bragging on my social media skills to her calling me out on missing some very important/interesting news that I should have easily known well before our conversation had I actually been my social media ninja self lately. No worries, I'm stepping up my game. This made the high five list because the best conversations we have are typically hilarious and out of nowhere, and I'm so thankful for people like Caylee :)

5. Tate "saying" Go Pokes, much to his Sooner Mommy's dismay :)
Lori & Tate came to watch Kaden play basketball against Minco Thursday night, and Auntie Shae had to teach him new tricks. We are also working on "Go Panthers!" and the Lori-approved "Go Kaden!"

Bonus: I've actually blogged multiple times this week. Guys, we might be onto something. Go 2013! :)

PS - happy ORANGE FRIDAY! #duh.
