Weekend Rewind

Happy Monday!

Today I'm at work, pretending to celebrate Piomingo Day (downside of not working for the Chickasaw Nation = no extra day off!). But this weekend? Let me tell you - it was great :)

On Friday, I made my first "Facebook deal." I'm part of a local "buy, sell, trade" group on Facebook and a lady posted that she had 2 quilt racks for $8 each - and they were so pretty! So, I messaged mom, basically seeking justification to buy one...in the end, she bought one and I bought one! I need to finish the wall behind my chair so I can put the quilt on the rack and get it set just where I want it. Right now it's a natural wood finish but I'm thinking I'll stain it dark to match the wood in our house. No pictures, because I forgot to take any, so follow me on Instagram and I'll eventually remember to post some. Probably.

After my gas-station money-quilt rack exchange, I went to my Aunt Kandi's to help her prepare food for "Justin's Birthday Party" (more on that coming later). AK makes everything from scratch, so I was quite certain I could pick up a few pointers. #CookingLessonsWithKandi, we'll call it. She doesn't measure, though, so I'm not sure exactly how much I picked up - other than the Puppy Chow recipe :)

One thing I definitely did learn was how to make salsa Suckerpunch Salsa.

What you can't see in those pictures are the mouth-burning jalapeño peppers that went into the salsa. It wasn't just a little kick, as my aunt said it would be. The salsa had great flavor, but I'm pretty sure my mouth caught fire when I tried it!

As I said, all of the food was prepared for a "Surprise Birthday Party" that Magan was throwing for Justin. Little did she know that he was actually behind the whole thing and had a surprise planned for her!

(trying not to get sappy here - deletes whole paragraph because crying while writing it and it's not time for tears, duh) Mag & Justin, I'm so excited for you! Congratulations, "Feyoncés"!

Friday Favorites

The time where I share my favorite randomness from the week.

Picking up this shirt from Miranda made me want to go for a run, immediately, and look cute doing so. In case you can't tell, that's silver-mirror text, followed by GLITTER text. It's a perfect fitting tank and I'm in love with it. They come in tanks or tees, and in a lot of colors. I just found out she is making another order, for you local girls who want them. If you're not local & want one, I can ask if she ships, and if not, I can order it and ship to you! Email me if you want one!
Bonus: it's a size smaller than what I thought I'd need. Thank you Insanity! #workit

Matt and I took Thabo to the park for the first time yesterday! He had so much fun running free (on his leash). Eventually he got a little adventurous and dipped his toes into the water, then jumped back like a princess. We might need to work on that. He enjoyed climbing up the big hill before we left then running down - not on the sidewalk, of course!

King of the park!

Yes, Amy, you are a princess.

Just watch this video, because I seriously don't have the words to explain how much I laughed.

Don't forget to #ThunderUp tomorrow!! #ShearTheBeard

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I haven't participated in #WILW in a loooong time, but I'm loving a lot this week so I decided it was most definitely time.

1. This post by Matt, which was posted last week but I randomly saw today.

2. Duck Dynasty. How the HECK am I just now getting into this, Jack?!

3. My coworker David & and new friend K.k. got engaged and made this awesome video, and it's being picked up by all sorts of media. They're so fancy pants - such a fun couple!

4. Oklahoma is getting some SUPER RAIN this week! Even though I'm not a fan of storms or yucky, dreary days, I am loving this soaking, much-needed rain! Praise Jesus!

5. Essie's Turquoise & Caicos. My love of this color is back with the spring and I look forward to using the entire bottle :) I'm currently rocking it with one silver sparkle nail on each hand {of course}.

6. It's exactly 30 days until my birthday! May 2, I fully anticipate you to be a fantastic day. Ahem, mom, your reminder.

Alright, that's a lot of love for the night, and I've got some Duck Dynasty and New Girl to catch up on. Toodles.

Volunteering is fun, ya'll.

The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma made a cool video about volunteering.
Check it out. And, you could also like on Facebook and follow on Twitter. Please?

Where is your favorite place to volunteer?

A note: I am a an employee at the Regional Food Bank.
I did not get any special treatment for posting this video;
I just liked it and wanted to share. Thanks for watching.

Your Motorola really rocks my world

My freshman year of college, I made a friend who I will treasure for the rest of my life. We don't talk much anymore, but the memories that we made totally transformed my freshman year from a blah year to an amazing year. We were silly and carefree and it was wonderful. We made pallets on the floor, memorized Mean Girls, had ridiculous Facebook conversations, ensured we were home for "Prime Time," and fell in love with Zac Efron. Thanks to her, I also fell in love with the Friars. Their music can be just as silly as we were. This video is my all time favorite, and I can't watch it without laughing to this day.
