Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!! I'm SO looking forward to the weekend - hoping to get some much-needed sleep, dig up my front flowerbed, and watch my Pokes beat TCU :)

Now, on to this week's favorite things!

1. I got to see my brother at work! Kale volunteered at the Regional Food Bank with his fellow Southwest District 4-H members.

2. Remember that Magan & Justin got engaged on Sunday? Well, Mag posted this to her instagram last night:

with instructions to reply by posting my favorite picture of us! I couldn't pick just one :)

And I just can't get over how excited I am for her!

3. In the "things" category, this mug is my favorite find recently, though I can't decide if I need want it in Tangerine Tango or Emerald. This flash drive is pretty spiffy, too.

4. I have no pictures for this one, but my Aunt Kandi gave me a package of scentsy cubes that smell HEAVENLY. They're perfectly fall-scented and give my house a cozy, inviting feel. I don't even know what scent it is, other than perfect.

5. This one should go on the "not favorites list" I suppose. Just last week I posted about the adorable iPhone case I ordered. Well, it still hasn't come in. #GetWithItAmazon. And sadly, yesterday I dropped my iPhone and the screen is totally shattered...with pieces in my thumb. Apple is replacing the phone (thanks, Apple Care) but who knows when the new unit will be in, so I'm stuck with a broken screen for a little bit. I've already been told we're sending back the case I ordered (when it finally comes in) and ordering an OtterBox instead. Does anyone with an iPhone 6 have the Commuter series? I like the one below - I don't want the Defender because it's giant, and with the last Defender series case I had (for my 5), the rubbery back peeled off in layers - gross - so I had to mod podge glitter it. ;)

6. Yosemite - not the place, the operating system. So far I'm loving the look. #MacFanGirl #WhoAmI? I'm ready for Monday when iOS 8.1 is released and my texts will show up on my computer. I really like the handoff feature for mail and safari (all I've used it for so far).

Happy weekend!

Friday Favorites: It's Fall, Ya'll!

I'm so excited that the weather is finally feeling fall-like! I'm a fan of all things cozy, fireplaces and mom's hot chocolate mix with lots of marshmallows (I guess now that I'm married I should probably get a copy of that recipe!), all of which start to be acceptable in the fall :)

Since I haven't shared my favorite things lately, I thought now would be a great time. Some are Pinterest finds - so go follow my boards! (ETA: after typing this, I realized I went from "ooh I like this" to a very random list. Whoops!)

1. I'm wanting so badly to learn to speak Chickasaw - and not just "know a few words" but actually be able to speak it. I figure since Matt's in school, I should do some studying, too, right? This is definitely on my already-being-made Christmas list :)

2. As we've determined, fall = cozy. Cozy = flannel, scarves and boots. I'm wanting this puffer vest and planning to make a flannel cardigan - if I can get through the gold sequin cardigan I'm currently sewing (did I lose my mind somewhere in hobby lobby when I decided to sew with sequins? Yes. Now I know why my grandma took a sewing sabbatical after making my gold sequin dress in first grade. But oh man that dress was awesome, right Mag? Also, this just further shows I've always been obsessed with gold sparkle.)

3. This headwrap is too stinking cute and I need it to cover my ears. #EndOfStory #MakeItHappenMatt The leopard, the bow, it's adorable.

4. I joined #TeamiPhone6 yesterday! I got the gold one, and as much as it pains me to cover up such a beautiful color, I'm really accident prone and don't want to break it (yes, I got apple care). I ordered this case from Amazon and I think I need to get my monogram, in pink, to put on the back. Yes?

5. Do you think if I wore this dress to work on Halloween that I could bring Hashtag to snuggle with all day? (Yes, our dog is named Hashtag.)

6. I'm really not a fan of my front flowerbed. I'm wanting to take everything out except the two evergreen trees and put a bench like the one below in the middle. Then, I could put flowers on/around the bench or other seasonal decorations (I've got a scarecrow needing somewhere to sit right now, and I think that'd be a perfect place for Santa to hang out, too). Would that look weird?

7. I'm really needing something to put above my curio cabinet. I have this one (pictured from Amazon below). Currently I have a little greenery above it, but I'm really not loving it. Suggestions? Our ceilings are really tall so I want something to give this a "top" instead of it being so flat and so far away from the ceiling.

8. Last week/end my brothers showed at the Tulsa State Fair and Bear & Cait came to watch. Bear got in the way of a swishing tail, getting covered in black paint. He didn't want to pose for a picture because "this is gonna end up on your blog, isn't it?" Yes, yes it will :)

I'm also loving that it's Friday. On that note, see you after the weekend! (I'm really liking the #blogtober14 prompt for Sunday, so maybe I'll even have a post then!)

Regional Radio Star {in training}

It's finally Friday - and yes, I mean finally. It's been such a crazy {but fun} week. We had a big event and a HUGE event at work this week, so when I say I'm a little tired, I think it's completely justified. I have a thousand pictures to go through, edit and post before I leave work today, plus all the other normal things non-event related. I was so tired I almost forgot to wear orange today. Don't worry, Pokes, I remembered. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to a good night of sleep tonight!

When I left you Monday, I was headed to bed so I'd be rested for 7:30 am meetings. Guys, I'm so not a morning person. But, getting to work that early wasn't all bad...
For those of you who don't know, I listen to the Sports Animal all.the.time. I think the Morning Animals are awesome. People know if I'm in my office or not by if they can hear people talking sports as they walk by my door (I've strategically hidden myself from view thanks to constant interruptions while designing). Anyway, part of my job is social media, so when my dear friends the morning animals were having probs posting to their Facebook page and requested help from listeners, clearly I called to help. Lump was so super nice and said my name several times on air and tweeted me back. I won't lie when I say I felt a little important.

On Wednesday, Jersey Mike's wrapped up their Month of Giving with a huge day of giving - all proceeds from OKC locations benefited the Food Bank. I got to go out and visit a few locations to take pictures, and while I was there, I was asked to be on-air with KOMA! I was interviewed about what Jersey Mike's was doing for the day. Clearly after that interview & my shout outs on the Sports Animal, a twitter bio update was in order:

Yes, that reads "Wannabe Regional Radio Star."
Wednesday evening, Matt & I took Thabo on an adventure to Petsmart. Now that he's all healed from a broken bone & surgery, he's quite rambunctious! He did enjoy sitting in this box and chewing the sides of it. I also bought Molly Jo some treats and decorated chew bones to play with, and I'm not sure she likes either - the treats are healthy for old lady dogs (clearly she's going to be bummed for a healthy treat!) and she just stares at the bones and hasn't done a thing to actually chew on them. And they're even decorated in pink. Weirdo.

And yesterday, oh man. Let's just say it was 14 long hours of work and fun. I played paparazzi so of course I'll be sharing some pictures over on my work Flickr account, and I already shared some fun on our Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. The event was at the Cowboy & National Western Heritage Museum (for those of us who are old, the Cowboy Hall of Fame). It's such a beautiful venue, and the event was a great success.

By the time you're reading this, I hope to have edited a few hundred pictures. I'm looking forward to having dinner with my sweet friend Ashley tonight before she takes off on a new, exciting adventure.

If you're in the area, I'd like to invite you to join me for church on Sunday! If you're unable to physically be there, you can watch online here. I'm so thankful that Jesus did indeed pay it all. I'm so humbled to serve such a wonderful, loving Savior.

"Oh praise the One who paid my debt and raised this life up from the dead!"

Happy Friday!
Yes, I like putting "happy" in front of every day of the week.
It makes me more thankful for every day, and reminds me than even Mondays are a blessing.

This was a great week.
How great? I'll show you.

I bought some detangling spray.

I think the last time I used it was yesterday 1992 and I'm really not too sure why I ever stopped. But, thanks to Meg & Caylee helping me brush my hair a few weeks ago, I decided I needed some. This stuff is amazing. Why the heck did little me ever decide to stop using it? Whatever the reason, it is back in my life and made my hair much easier to brush. Oh, and on the hair note, I dyed my hair. I am working on having mermaid hair (in length), and while I will never go full-on red, adding a little red to my brown head works perfectly. And my ringtone is now Little Mermaid. #NoJudging

I made Pistol Pete Mustaches (and Pigs in a Blanket) with Matt.

Guys, Matt knows his Pigs in a Blanket, and he said the ones I made were good,
so this must mean I'm onto something when it comes to cooking.

Oklahoma had some really pretty sunsets.

I pulled off the side of the road (no driving paparazzi here) to snap this picture of the sun
peeking around my Pistol Pete car scent. I was on my way to my grandparents' house,
where we celebrated my Granddad's 70th birthday!! Happy birthday, Granddad!
We had a "throwdown" - shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes - and it was delish.

I added new pages to my blog.
I added two new pages to the blog - Pretties & Printables, which features phone backgrounds, printable decorations, and whatever other "pretties" I create, and a link to the {Fantastic}Fonts series I do attempt every Thursday. That page will be updated weekly. I also added a new iPhone background, pictured above.

And tonight, it's Panther vs. Bulldog Basketball, meaning Lori & Baby Tate will be at the game.

You can bet Tate and I will be having many hilarious conversations.

Friday Favorites

1. New U Nutrition {Herbalife}
I stopped by Monday at lunch for a shake & tea, and my comment on Facebook was "hello delicious." Seriously - I had a Reese's Cheesecake shake & a Raspberry Lemonade tea, and it was amazing. I will definitely be going back soon I've gone back every day this week. That good. Find a place that makes Herbalife shakes in your area and try one (this is east of Mustang across from Aaron's on the north side of highway 152, for my local friends). I've tried making the shakes myself and failed miserably, it just didn't taste the same...but their Cinnamon Toast Crunch tastes just like the cereal. I'm more than willing to spend $6 to get to drink a delicious, healthy shake every day.

2. My Birchbox eyeliner
I already talked about this one this week, but I've worn it every day and I appreciate it more each time I see that it's stayed put. That's all.

3. Girls Night
Aka tonight. Caylee is in town and we are staying at Meg's and having a blast. In fact, I wrote this yesterday because she's here right now and if I had to guess what we'll be doing today, it'll probably involve laughing at each other's hilarious stories and shopping for the Pinterest-y sort of night ahead. There's just something about having best friend time that makes my heart really, really happy.

I ordered one of their Long Sleeved Monogrammed T-Shirts on Thursday and I already am planning when and where to wear it. My go-to outfit lately has been a long sleeve shirt, a long cami, skinny pants/leggings and Uggs. Within like 10 minutes of ordering, my shirt had started being processed. They're SO fast on creating and delivering things, so I'm quite certain I'll have it next week...meaning I'll be wearing it soon. #CantWait

5. Liquid Mucinex
I was definitely feeling a little sickly-ish earlier this week. I took off from work a little early and went to the doctor. While I won't get into the hot mess that was the doctor's visit, I will say the advice to get liquid Mucinex was probably the best thing to come out of it. Within two doses I started feeling better. You'd think my sinuses would eventually realize I live in Oklahoma and the weather will always be crazy, and they'd behave. #DreamOn

PS - have you entered Cassie's book giveaway yet?
