Stock show season?

Guys, I guess it really is stock show season - not fall, autumn, or as I call it, football season. How do I know this? Well, every day, the search results on my little blog increase for one song - Livestock Show (because of this post from earlier this year) - and one very disturbing search term. I'm assuming these searches are coming from some ag students needing music for the drive to Tulsa in a few weeks and/or they're practicing judging. At least that's what I'm pretending. Anyway, on to more fun.

This weekend was a blast. Friday night I had dinner with one of my sweet g-littles in Norman. She happened to be an athletic trainer for the football team last year and got a little bling when the Cowboys won the Big 12. She brought it along to dinner and I had the honor of trying this monster of a ring on!

I also had a slumber party with one of my favorite tiny humans, Pailynn! We ate the inside of an Oreo, played with toys and watched the Rangers. I love that she is starting to figure out how to say my name - "Ae" is a perfectly acceptable form of "Shae!"

Saturday, Catie and I watched the 6A state cheer competition and went to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. Just after ordering our cokes, we were creeped on by a man old enough to be our dad. He and his group had left the table, and after it was cleaned off and we were seated, he returned, making a scene about them clearing his table while he was in the restroom. He sat down and demanded another drink to replace the one they supposedly took away. Meanwhile, his coworkers were supposedly in the car waiting on him. After about five minutes, they too showed up, and thankfully they were much nicer than their "pal" (and very obviously didn't want to be hanging out with him - awkward...). Finally, several outlandish stories later, he left, much to our relief! No pictures to document this evening, as I left my phone at home - sorry! Just believe me, it was a very awkward adventure.

The whole reason I was in Stillwater this weekend was for an event for work! It ended up being a great time and I had so much fun with coworkers, even though I was beyond exhausted by the time it was over. I love my job so much that the tiredness and the wind that made my hair gross didn't even really matter, though I will say, my bed never has looked so inviting. :)

Dear Googler, Part 3: Steer Butts?

Recently, several of you have found my bloggie via a humorous little search term.

STEER BUTTS.

The first time I saw this, I waved it off as someone going deep into search results and accidentally landing on my blog.

The next few times, I thought it was strange, but again, dismissed it.

Again tonight, someone found my blog by searching steer butts. So of course, I finally decided to Google steer butts myself and see what comes up.

I can't even make this up.

Apparently, thanks to this picture in this post, I occasionally show up in searches for steer butts (can I just abbrev to SB? thanks). I had no idea my family having cattle would cause this to happen. But let's back up a second. Yes, I had a photo of a steer butt in a blog post. It was about a livestock show. But WHY, people, are you so regularly searching for SB's? Can't you just walk outside and see one? Are you wondering what a normal one looks like? Are you needing help with it? Are you from the city? Wondering what kind of meat comes from one? I don't know enough about SB's to have anyone landing here because of this search. So I apologize to the next person who will find me using this search term. However, if you'd like to let me know why you were Googling SB's to begin with, I'm interested. Maybe I'll start answering your looming SB questions, or at least find someone qualified enough to do so.

Bless your heart. :)

dear googler, part two

Thank you for finding my site, though I wish you would have found this one, because then you could have gotten even more awesome information about the 2012 AmPo Bond Issue. However, since you read my views on Vote YES, I hope I was able to convince you to be one of the 229 people who voted for the for the bond issue.

That being said, I would like to repeat the announcement just made on the Vote YES website... The 2012 Amber Pocasset Bond Issue PASSED! We are awaiting "official" results from the Oklahoma State Election Board before an official announcement is made on the VYFAPK site, but it passed and those results will be posted as soon as I receive them.

THANK YOU to everyone who voted YES, making a difference for the future of AmPo. I'm excited to see the impact this will have on the lives of the children of AmPo. Both of my brothers will benefit from the new high school gym and many of my cousins will benefit from the cafeteria and classrooms as well.

Be watching the Vote YES Facebook and website for updates as these exciting projects get started!

My heart is so happy and GREEN right now! Go Panthers!

Dear Googler,

One of you came here looking for OKC Thunder Tom's yesterday. I'm not sure how that search term brought up my bloggie in the results, but it did. I apologize for any confusion, and would like to point you in this direction. However, if you find any OKC Thunder Tom's, or if you're the super creative type and can make me some, let me know. I'd be happy to wear them and Thunder Up!
